Training course on ‘MANAGEMENT AND MARKETING OF A LOCAL RADIO STATION’ for managers of 10 Malian community radio stations at the Djoliba Centre in Bamako from 18 to 25 February 2012. This training course is part of the ‘Radios plurielles’ project implemented by the RFI-France 24-MCD Academy in partnership with the Union des Radios et Télévisions Libres du Mali (URTEL) with the support of the European Union delegation in Mali. By strengthening the capacities of a dozen Malian radio stations, this project aims to achieve the following priorities:

• Strengthen the role of civil society in promoting human rights by building the capacity of radio stations to address gender equality on the air.

• Promote democratic values, particularly pluralism and political representation, and build confidence in democratic electoral processes by strengthening the capacity of radio stations and journalists to provide balanced coverage of elections and monitor the voting process.
