From 18 to 20 August, the Académie held training sessions in Damascus for Syrian journalists.

This initiative, supported by CFI, the French media development agency, included a conference on the theme of "Information processing in crisis situations: how to cover the news while respecting journalistic ethics? with France 24's correspondent in Syria, Dana Alboz, the Academie's director, Antoine Cormery, and, via videoconference, Jean-Pierre Constantin, mediator for France Médias Monde, and Amanda Mouawad, deputy editor-in-chief at France 24 Beirut. A two-day workshop on fact-checking tools was then led by Djamel Bellayachi from France 24 Paris. In total, nearly 80 Syrian journalists from public television (ORTAS), the press agency (SANA) and the Union of Syrian Journalists participated in these workshops.
