How can we facilitate calm political debate in the post-revolutionary period? How can we help Tunisian listeners better understand the upheavals of recent months and prepare them to fulfil their electoral duty in full knowledge of the facts? These were some of the topics discussed during the workshops organised in Tunis from 11 April to 21 May at the request of Tunisian Radio. Nearly a hundred journalists and presenters working for Tunisian Radio's four stations (National Radio, Radio Jeunes, Radio Culture and RTCI, Radio Tunis Chaîne Internationale, which broadcasts in French, Italian, English, German and Spanish) took part in these workshops, which were led by ten journalists and trainers from RFI and its Arabic-language subsidiary Monte Carlo Doualiya. It was an opportunity for everyone to speak freely about censorship and self-censorship, the risks of manipulation during election periods and the necessary neutrality of journalists, thanks to practical exercises and role-playing, coupled with theoretical support.
